Jordan Pavilion Mascot and Stamp Design Contest.

In cooperation with Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), and with the support of Hikmat Leaders, the Executive Office for Jordan’s Participation at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai organized a competition to choose the official mascot of the Jordanian pavilion and the pavilion stamp.

 

A call for entries was issued to students of all Jordanian universities to participate in the competition, subject to specific criteria. Following this, a specialized technical panel evaluated the submissions and shortlisted the top fifteen mascot and Stamp designs, this committee subsequently adjudicated the final shortlist from among these many submissions.

 

On December 15th the final committee elected the winning designs from a final 10 Mascot and 5 Stamp designs. The committee was chaired by His Excellency Ambassador Jiro Okuyama, the Ambassador of Japan to Jordan, the committee included Mrs. Okuyama, spouse of the Japanese Ambassador, Dr. Gida Hamam, and Engineer Malak Jaradat from HTU. Architect Shifa Zghoul, Deputy Commissioner-General, Dr. Ahmed Jubran, Pavilion Director, and Mr. Hashim Qasim, Director of Public Relations and Pavilion Programs Represented the Executive Office of Jordan’s Participation in the final committee.

 

It is noteworthy that Mr. Maher Kaddoura, the founder of Al-Jude, generously donated to cover the travel and accommodation expenses of the winner of the mascot competition to Osaka to visit the Expo for five days. After the results were announced, His Excellency Dr. Abdelrazzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board/Commissioner-General of the Jordan Participation at EXPO 2025 Osaka, surprised the attendees by announcing the donation to cover the travel and accommodation expenses of the Stamp design winner, also to Osaka for five days.

 

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Ismail Al-Hinti, President of Al-Hussein Technical University, Dr. Lutfi Al-Sharif, Vice President of HTU, Dr. Mariam Biltawi, Dean of Student Affairs at HTU, Dr. Nayel Al-Hajaya, Dean of Student Affairs at Tafila Technical University, Dr. Omaimah Al-Arja, Dean of School of Architecture and Built Environment of the German Jordan University, as well as numerous academics, invitees, student contestants, and their families
