Kamikitayama Visit.

Amman, (June 28th 2024) – The Jordan Executive Office for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, embarked on a visit to Kamikitayama Village in Nara Prefecture on June 28th. The primary objective of this visit was to explore a potential partnership with the village for the sourcing of high-quality wood, including Cedar and Hinoki Cypress, for the construction of the main exhibition space for the Jordanian pavilion.

This collaboration aims to not only secure premium materials for the pavilion but also to contribute to the sustainable development of the Kamikitayama community. By sourcing wood locally, the project will directly support the local economy and provide valuable income streams for the village, particularly benefiting its aging population.

The village warmly welcomed the Jordanian delegation, showcasing its commitment to sustainable forestry practices and engaging in detailed discussions regarding wood quality, quantity, and availability. The visit included a comprehensive tour of a local wood factory, providing valuable insights into the village's expertise in wood production and craftsmanship.
