During his visit to Jordan from January 3-7, 2025, Japanese artist Naoki Kusumi, who specializes in mud plastering, visited Petra on January 4, 2025. Mr. Kusumi accompanied by Deputy Commissioner General Arch. Shifa Zghoul, visited Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, they met with Eng. Yazan Mahadin, Commissioner for Petra Archaeological Park and Tourism, Eng. Mahadin briefed them on the work of the Petra Development & Tourism Region Authority. Mr.Kusumi then toured the ancient city before heading to Wadi Rum and concluding his tour at the Dead Sea.
On January 7, 2025, Kusumi, accompanied by both Arch. Shifa Zghoul, Deputy Commissioner General, and Dr. Ahmad Jubran, Director of the pavilion, visited Dar Ne’meh in Kufranja, which belongs to Princess Taghrid Institute for Development & Training (PTI). They were welcomed by Dr. Aghadeer Juweihan, the Institute's General Director, who gave a detailed explanation of the Institute's work and Dar Ne’meh in Kufranja. She also introduced a woman from Kufranja who works at Dar Ne’meh and shared her success story, explaining how she started working at the Institute without any academic qualifications and how, thanks to the support she received from the Institute and from Dr. Aghadeer Juweihan in particular, she was able to obtain a high school diploma and is currently studying agriculture at Ajloun University. Dr. Aghadeer then took Mr. Kusumi and his companions on a tour in Dar Ne’meh's. During the visit, the Japanese artist and his companions participated with the women of the Kufranja community in building part of a clay taboon oven. At the end of the visit, the guests had lunch prepared by the women of Kufranja who work there using traditional methods. Mr.Kusumi expressed his admiration for everything he saw and highly appreciated all the work the Institute is doing for the benefit of the local community.
